UTAH ARTISTS featured in Park City Parade of HOMES

What a great time of year to go up to Park City and see some wonderful homes.  This year in conjunction with Hamilton Park and HIBA(Highland Interiors by Accents), Repartee Gallery has participated in supplying Originals of Utah Artists.

David Jackson, Theresa Otteson, Sandra Rast, Robert Marshall, David Koch, Anne Marie Oborn, and Garth Oborn all have Originals complimenting this wonderful home.  There are also a few Lithographs and giclees of James Christensen.

This home is by Douglas Knight Construction and is lot #18 in the "WOODS".   The home is for sale as is all the artwork on display.  Let me know if something interests you.

It is in Summit Park, North of the freeway and all the way to the top of the road.  I keep hoping to see a Moose when I go up, but just keep missing those sightings.   This is the last weekend for the show.

"SPOOKY HALLOWEEN " by Utah Artist -John McNaughton

The other day I was in the store and Halloween items were out already.   I can't believe it.  One of my customers ordered this giclee by John McNaughton.  I love it.  It is even better in person.

If you are one of those looking for Halloween items, and would like to order this canvas, give me a call.  801-296-0718 at the gallery  and I'll be glad to get it in and framed for your Halloween decorations.

New by Liz Lemon Swindle.....FEAR NOT

In her own words Liz Lemon Swindle talks about her new painting of a young shepherd boy:

“It was prophesied that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2); and Jewish tradition held that His birth would be announced from Migdal Eder - a watchtower located near Bethlehem on the road to Jerusalem. A passage in the Mishnah says that the flocks at Migdal Eder were destined for Temple sacrifice. We may infer that the angel did come to Migdal Eder and the shepherds who heard the announcement and followed the star would be the perfect choice to spread the word of Christ’s birth. They would shortly lead their flocks to the temple to be sacrificed and while there would tell all of the miraculous birth." - Edersheim, Jesus the Messiah, p. 131; Sketches of Jewish Life, p. 76-77

I wanted to capture the moment when a little shepherd boy at the watchtower was awaken by a Heavenly light and heard those words so long foretold, "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." - Luke 2:10-11

This is available in a canvas for only $195.00 at the gallery  801-296-0718 ....

New Offering- by JAMES CHRISTENSEN

he College of Magical Knowledge

For only a short window of time, one of James Christensen’s most beloved paintings is available as a GiclĂ©e Canvas Anniversary Edition! You’ll have to place your order quickly because enrollment in The College of Magical Knowledge ends September 30, 2011.
The College of Magical Knowledge is the most recognized and adored setting in Christensen’s “land a little left of reality” and was featured in his best-selling book The Voyage of the Basset. “The inscription over the entrance reads Scientia est Potentia,” relates Christensen, “so the institution was founded on the principle that ‘Knowledge is Power’ But it is vital to realize that here, at this place, the traditional human paths to knowledge, to become political beings or financiers, are incomplete. Science itself only offers us one way of looking at our problems. One needs to add the suspension of disbelief in order to gain access to the magic found in life. You don’t learn ordinary things here.
The College of Magical Knowledge is just the opposite of the kind of institution where the Fellowes wear black and are very serious. It is a place where the professors wear as many colors as possible, plus two! I’d guess that nearly every character I’ve painted went to school here. Certainly a few haven’t, but you can see here Bird Hunters, the Fishwalker, a butterfly fisherman and the Pear Balancer. For as stately as the building may appear, the College is far bigger on the inside than out. The Fellowes have an incredible library of stuff at which we can only guess. But two of the most prized possessions are the Book of Answers and the Book of Questions. I’ve heard that most find learning how to ask the right questions will get them farther than simply having all the answers, which isn’t necessarily the path many institutions take.”
The College of Magical Knowledge will only be offered as a personal commission through September 30, 2011. It comes in two different sizes. First, a magnificent MasterWork™ canvas at 34" w x 32" h. This MasterWork Edition will not exceed 35 pieces regardless of the number of orders received. The regular Fine Art Canvas at 22"w x 24"h will have an edition size set by the number of orders we receive by the September 30 deadline.

Most importantly, remember that your opportunity to own The College of Magical Knowledge is a time-limited proposition and the clock is already ticking. Order your edition today!
