James Christensen "Tempus Fugit" ( Time Flies)

The creative mind of James Christensen always amazes me.

"This is the look on my face when I glance up from painting and realize an entire afternoon has passed. I'm like the guy in the painting. Things always take more time than I think they will." Says Christensen.

This canvas is 9x9, is still available and is only $195.

New Parable by Liz Lemon Swindle

You Are The Salt of The Earth
Early in the Savior´s ministry, He climbed the hills surrounding the Sea of Galilee and taught what we now call the Sermon on the Mount. During that sermon of sermons the Lord said, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out..." - Matthew 5:13.

His disciples were more familiar with the symbolism of salt than we are today. They understood its preserving power in a world without refrigerators. They realized that salt loses its savor when mixed with something else. They further understood its cleansing power and its importance in adding flavor to life.

All of these symbols were involved in the Savior´s parable, but there was one that stands out above the others. Salt was an integral part of temple sacrifices and so became associated with the covenant people. Through this parable Jesus reminds us that we become salt when we make and keep covenants with God. As we remain true to those covenants and avoid mixing with worldly influences, we can be cleansed, preserved, and become the "salt of the earth."

SUNSET on Canal by Dan Barsness

Here is another new painting in the gallery by Idaho Artist Dan Barsness. The clarity and color is much richer in person.

Personally, I love sunsets.  I've been thinking of having a show of just sunsets.  There is something very peaceful about the evening.  The colors of a sunset seem to be a gift before darkness.

I hope you'll stop in to see Dan's work.

NEW by JAMES CHRISTENSEN

Another whimsical painting by James Christensen.  This painting has just been released as a giclee.
“You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘excessive force’ — well this knight is the embodiment of excessive preparation,” says artist James C. Christensen. “He has armored himself to the point of immobility and his quarry will almost certainly evade him.”

Fans of the artist will recognize many of his signature traits, however iron-clad, including the floating fish, the charming yet self-important little man and the hilarious detailed flourishes to the costumes right down to the bell lashed to the bird’s leg. Are those chicken feet? Say, those tail feathers look a bit suspicious… Don’t miss the opportunity to hang this delightful warrior in your home.
